The Hohenzollern kings of Prussia acquired and settled a small territory within Poland which was physically detached from Prussia and surrounded by Polish land. You had to ride out of Koenigsberg (Konigsberg) in any direction into Poland and travell along a Polish road until you reached the border with the rest of Prussia! This is why it was called also Ostpreussen or "East Prussia". It was settled with German families and the Hohenzollern king of Prussia delegated a representative and settled on him the title of Prince of Koenigsberg (East Prussia), which was a member of the von Schaible family. A new aristocracy was formed in East Prussia under the von Schaible princes that was comprised of Germanic settlers into Konigsberg, such as the Rohde family. Among these were Johann Rohde and his wife Dorothea Schulz, raised in status to something like Ritter or "hereditary Knight" under the Princes von Schaible, whose two children were Louise and their son Heinrich Herrmann Rohde b 23 Oct at Tappelkeim and christened 26 Oct 1828 at Schoenbruch, Kreis, Friedland, both in Ostpreussen otherwise known as Koenigsberg. Later Heinrich Herrmann would be guarding the 1861 coronation of the Prussian king at Koenigsberg married to Anna Sophia princess zu Hannover and fell in battle as a cavalry captain circa 1870 fighting the French invasion and for unification of Germany under new Kaiser. Walter Rohde 9/22/1943 was in Panzer Division. And 1901 in America Lena Rohde obtained Marriage License to Ric Kussel.
